myFirst announces CareSip smart water bottle with fingerprint lock
The company myFirst has announced the CareSip, a smart water bottle designed for children that features biometric security. The bottle's lid is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, allowing parents to authorize specific users via the myFirst Circle companion app. The app can manage up to 20 different fingerprints and provides timestamped logs of when the bottle is opened.
In addition to biometric access, the CareSip includes a temperature-based safety lock. If the liquid inside reaches 56°C or higher, the lid remains locked to prevent burns, only opening once the contents have cooled to a safer temperature.
The 530ml bottle is constructed from stainless steel and food-grade silicone, is BPA-free, and holds an IPX6 water resistance rating. It is powered by an internal battery that lasts up to six weeks on a single charge and can be recharged via USB-C. While the product has been announced, official pricing and market release dates have not yet been disclosed.
