Mykhailo Fedorov accuses Ukrainian Ministry of Defense of widespread corruption

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has raised serious allegations of widespread corruption within the Ministry of Defense, claiming that hundreds of individuals have profited from state funds. Fedorov stated that these corrupt networks actively hinder Ukraine's ability to conclude the war from a position of strength.

In addition to corruption concerns, Fedorov has reignited the debate over democratic processes in Ukraine. He argued that the country must begin preparing for the restoration of the democratic cycle, including local, parliamentary, and presidential elections, asserting that democracy should not be held hostage by the war. He noted that while there are arguments against holding elections during active conflict, the process should be analyzed and prepared for to avoid future crises.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed opposition to the idea, stating that holding elections during the current war would be too dangerous and potentially divisive for the nation. Fedorov also addressed recent money laundering investigations, suggesting that President Zelenskyy needs to clarify his awareness of corruption involving individuals within his inner circle.

Looking forward, Fedorov announced plans to travel to the United States to meet with Elon Musk to discuss expanding Starlink satellite capabilities for the war effort.
