Mykhailo Mudryk suffers ankle injury during Tottenham training

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi has provided details regarding a non-contact ankle injury sustained by winger Mykhailo Mudryk during training. De Zerbi described the setback as a ‘stupid injury,’ noting that the player felt pain during routine movement without any physical tackle or contact.

Medical checks conducted two days after the initial discomfort confirmed the injury, which is expected to sideline the Ukrainian forward for at least seven matches. Mudryk is unlikely to return to action until after the international break in November.

De Zerbi acknowledged that the club’s medical and recruitment departments were aware of potential physical challenges associated with the player's profile when he was signed. He noted that integrating Mudryk into the team's high-intensity system would require patience. To cover his absence, Tottenham may utilize Mathys Tel, Savio, or Omar Marmoush.
