Mykolas Romeris University to investigate Gintarė Skaistė’s dissertation

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) will launch an investigation on September 1 to examine allegations of academic ethics violations regarding a doctoral dissertation submitted by conservative politician Gintarė Skaistė.

The investigation follows a complaint received by the Academic Ethics and Procedures Controller Service on August 10. The allegations involve potential issues with the originality of the text, calculation discrepancies, and deficiencies in the presentation of results. The university's communication department stated that the investigative group is expected to deliver its findings within two months of commencing work.

Gintarė Skaistė, who defended her dissertation on the impact of institutional systems on risk capital investment models in 2016, has stated she will provide all necessary information to ensure an objective evaluation.
