Mylopotamos villages lose water supply following severe weather

Severe weather in the Mylopotamos municipality of Crete has left the villages of Zoniana, Krana, and Livadia without water supply. The local water and sewage utility, DEYA Mylopotamou, reported that the outages are due to significant damage to the water networks.

Access to the damaged infrastructure is currently restricted because a section of the road near the Diskorio Monastery has collapsed. As a result, technical crews are forced to reach repair sites on foot. Because safe vehicle access has not yet been restored, officials cannot provide a definitive timeline for when water service will return to the affected settlements.

DEYA Mylopotamou has issued an urgent appeal to residents in the three villages to use any available water reserves with extreme caution and to limit consumption strictly to essential needs.
