Argentine opposition leaders call for unity against Milei
Opposition leaders in Argentina are mobilizing to challenge President Javier Milei ahead of the 2027 elections. Juan Grabois has called for a broad coalition ranging 'from the left to the civilized center' to unite against the current administration, suggesting a large primary election (PASO) to consolidate opposition forces before internal disputes occur.
Simultaneously, Myriam Bregman of the Frente de Izquierda (FIT) is attempting to channel growing social discontent. She has called for organizing public anger to combat the government's economic adjustment plans and warned of a potential 'Mileism without Milei' involving other political figures.
In the province of Entre Ríos, Peronist leaders Daniel Cedro and Amadeo Cresto are also pushing for internal restructuring. They are advocating for a consensus-based political construction that incorporates diverse sectors, including workers, businesses, and NGOs, rather than simply selecting candidates before establishing a shared political project.
