Myriam Bregman confronts Gabriel Bornoroni during Central Bank reform vote

During a session to approve a reform of the Central Bank's charter, Argentine Deputy Myriam Bregman of the Frente de Izquierda engaged in a heated confrontation with Gabriel Bornoroni, leader of the La Libertad Avanza bloc.

The dispute arose after Bornoroni interrupted Bregman during a privilege motion. Bregman criticized the interruption, stating she could not tolerate “one more macho shouting at me today.”

Bregman used the floor to demand information regarding whether state funds from YPF were allocated to the digital media outlet La Derecha Diario. She linked the outlet to its co-founder, Fernando Cerimedo, who is currently detained in Bolivia facing accusations related to an attempted murder of his partner, Nadia Beller. Bregman argued that what the government calls a “cultural battle” is actually a form of aggression that moves from social media to real-life violence.

Despite the tension, the La Libertad Avanza bloc successfully passed the project to reform the Central Bank's organic charter with 144 votes in favor and 102 against.
