Greek actress Myriella Kourenti has shared a personal testimony regarding her journey toward Orthodox faith via a TikTok video. She described a difficult period three years ago involving physical and mental health struggles that led her to seek spiritual guidance.

Kourenti stated that she prayed nightly to the Virgin Mary for a month, asking to be led to a spiritual mentor. She described the response as ‘shattering’ after two unrelated individuals—a friend and an acquaintance of her mother—independently recommended the same monk. The monk, a resident living near her home, is a hieromonk from Mount Athos and was a disciple of the late Elder Joseph of Vatopedi.

The actress expressed that finding this spiritual guide has become a central part of her daily life and helped her find inner balance.
