Italy: New book releases and social media awareness appeal

Several new literary works have been released in Italy. Journalist Myrta Merlino has published ‘La bambina del miracolo. Storia della mia mamma geniale’ with La Nave di Teseo, a memoir about her mother, Annamaria Palermo, detailing her life through the 1960s, feminism, and her studies in China.

Additionally, Natalia and Corrado Augias have released ‘L’uomo che inventò la politica. Inchiesta su Machiavelli’ through Einaudi, an investigation aimed at providing an authentic perspective on Machiavelli by moving past traditional academic rhetoric and slogans.

In television news, a poignant story was shared on the program ‘Tu si que vales’. A mother named Mirna spoke about the loss of her 15-year-old daughter, Dea, who took her own life due to the pressures of social media beauty standards. Mirna has since founded an association to support young people and promote the conscious use of social networks.
