Myrta Merlino discusses career shifts and personal history

Italian journalist and presenter Myrta Merlino has shared insights into her professional transitions and personal life. In a recent appearance on the BSMT podcast, Merlino discussed her move from La7 to Mediaset. She explained that after 13 years hosting ‘L’Aria Che Tira’, she sought a less intense professional rhythm to balance her career with her family life, noting that the daily format was highly demanding.

Merlino also addressed her career negotiations, revealing that initial discussions with Mediaset involved a weekly prime-time program.

In her book, ‘La bambina del miracolo’, Merlino explores her complex relationship with her late mother, Annamaria Palermo. She describes her mother as a woman driven by a desire for fulfillment, while also reflecting on the challenges of growing up too quickly due to maternal absence. Additionally, Merlino spoke about her relationship with Marco Tardelli, describing it as a source of stability and comfort.
