IMAX Theater Opens at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach

Georgia Theatre Company, which bought the 14‑screen cinema at The Market Common in late 2025, announced a full renovation that will convert the venue's largest auditorium into an IMAX® with Laser experience. The new screen will be nearly 55 feet wide and will seat 221 recliner patrons. The upgraded IMAX theater is slated to open on December 18, 2026, timed to coincide with the nationwide release of *Dune: Part Three*.

GTC President Bo Chambliss confirmed the plans to local media, noting that the addition follows strong performance of the company’s existing IMAX location. The Market Common IMAX will be the only facility of its kind in the Myrtle Beach area, offering a premium movie‑going option for residents and visitors alike.
