Myrtles Plantation Photo Shows Apparition After 20 Years
A couple who toured the historic Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana, more than two decades ago recently re‑examined the disposable‑camera pictures they took during the visit. In one image they now see a terrifying figure that was not noticed at the time. The discovery has been linked to the plantation’s folklore about Chloe, an enslaved woman allegedly punished for eavesdropping and later blamed for poisoning the Woodruff children, James and Cornelia, with oleander. While historical records show the Woodruff family died of yellow fever in the 1820s, the new photo has revived interest in the ghost story associated with the site.
