Mysuru Dasara drone show sets Guinness World Record

The Mysuru Dasara celebrations achieved a Guinness World Record with a drone show featuring 3,473 drones. Held on October 18 at the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap, the display created the world’s largest aerial image of a bird, depicting a dancing peacock.

Organized by the Karnataka government’s Energy Department in collaboration with Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (CESC), the spectacle was executed by Delhi-based BotLab Dynamics. In addition to the peacock, the synchronized drones formed images of a lion, a butterfly, a soldier holding the national flag, and Goddess Chamundeshwari.

The achievement follows a previous record set during the 2025 celebrations, which utilized 2,983 drones to create an image of a flying tiger. The technology used specialized software to control individual flight paths and color-changing LED lights to produce intricate visual formations.
