Múzquiz authorities combat forest fire in Santa Rosa

Authorities and brigadiers are working to combat a forest fire at the La Escondida ranch, located in the Santa Rosa mountain range within the municipality of Múzquiz.

Preliminary reports suggest the fire was caused by an electrical discharge resulting from recent weekend storms in the region. The blaze has affected approximately one hectare of land, consisting of 70 percent scrubland and 30 percent grassland.

As of the latest update, efforts have reached an estimated 80 percent control and 30 percent liquidation. The operation involves 28 brigadiers from the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente working on the ground, supported by a Bell 212 helicopter for aerial maneuvers. Protection Civil indicated that monitoring and containment efforts will continue through Saturday.
