Múzquiz police implement surprise breathalyzer tests for officers

The Municipal Public Security Directorate of Múzquiz, Coahuila, has intensified internal supervision of its officers through surprise controls, including breathalyzer tests during weekends. This initiative aims to ensure that agents are in proper condition to perform their duties and to strengthen discipline and operational performance.

José Ponce Sánchez, director of the corporation, stated that these measures are part of a policy to maintain a professional and preventive police force under the administration of Mayor Laura Jiménez Gutiérrez. The strategy focuses on maintaining high internal standards of conduct and responsibility while prioritizing respectful treatment and social proximity to build public trust.

In addition to internal testing, the municipality has reinforced its preventive filters for motorists, recently acquiring new breathalyzer equipment. The administration is also implementing police training courses for the Carbonífera Region, emphasizing legality, human rights, and duty effectiveness.
