N-331 road closure between Montilla and Aguilar de la Frontera
The N-331 national road will be completely closed to traffic in both directions between Montilla and Aguilar de la Frontera from August 31 until March 1, 2027. The closure is necessary to facilitate works by Adif, the railway infrastructure administrator, on an overpass above the conventional gauge railway line.
The project involves replacing the beams of the existing overpass to increase the vertical clearance for the Algeciras-Zaragoza railway highway. The affected area includes the connection between the N-331 and junction 36 of the A-45 motorway.
During the construction period, drivers must use an alternative route via junction 27 (La Rambla–Montemayor–Montilla). While the main connection to the A-45 via junction 36 will be blocked by portable barriers, local authorities have stated that access for owners of adjacent plots and farms will be maintained. The Montilla City Council has advised residents and businesses to plan trips in advance and follow the official detour signage.
