N. Murugumaran quits AIADMK to join TVK

Former AIADMK MLA and organizing secretary N. Murugumaran has resigned from the opposition party to join the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Murugumaran, who represented the Kattumannarkoil constituency in the Assembly twice, met with TVK General Secretary and Water Resources Minister N. Anand in Dharapuram to formalize his induction.

Murugumaran accused the AIADMK leadership, specifically General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, of sidelining loyal and committed workers in favor of candidates with significant financial resources. He expressed dissatisfaction regarding the party's decision to deny him a ticket to contest from his former constituency in the upcoming elections, noting that he was instead nominated for the Tittakudi constituency.

His departure follows a trend of defections from the AIADMK, including former ministers and party functionaries, moving toward the TVK. Murugumaran claimed that the party's current approach of prioritizing wealthy candidates over sincere cadres is contributing to its decline in Tamil Nadu politics.
