N-Sea Group and Omega Subsea expand offshore cable installation capabilities
N-Sea Group has taken delivery of Altera, a new vessel designed for cable installation and repair. Built by Neptune Marine, the Dutch-flagged vessel features a shallow-draught hull and a 4,500-tonne cable capacity, making it suitable for interconnector, export, and inter-array cable projects in both shallow and deep waters.
In a separate development in the subsea sector, Omega Subsea has secured a five-year contract to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services for NKT’s upcoming cable-laying vessel, NKT Eleonora. Scheduled to enter service in 2027, the NKT Eleonora will be capable of carrying over 23,000 tonnes of cable for high-voltage power installation projects across Europe. This agreement expands the existing partnership between Omega Subsea and NKT, which already includes services for the NKT Victoria.
