N1 Slovenija editor-in-chief Katja Šeruga resigns amid ownership changes
Katja Šeruga has stepped down from her position as editor-in-chief of N1 Slovenija following a mutual agreement with Adria News Network. This leadership change follows a recent shift in the ownership of the media company.
In response to the takeover of Adria News Network and N1 Slovenija, the Association of Journalists of Slovenia has called upon the Public Agency for Competition Protection (AVK) to initiate a media concentration assessment procedure. The association aims to ensure editorial independence and monitor the impact of changing ownership structures on the media landscape.
Separately, a new dataset regarding media ownership in Slovenia has been made publicly available through the Social Science Data Archive (ADP). This database, developed as part of the Afemed project, provides detailed information on Slovenian media publishers and their ownership networks, including cross-border ownership structures.
