Na Kyung-won slams 800‑trillion‑won Ho‑Nam semiconductor mega‑project
Conservative lawmaker Na Kyung‑won criticised the Lee Jae‑myung administration’s plan to invest about 800 trillion won in a Ho‑Nam region semiconductor mega‑project. Speaking at a policy forum in Daegu Art Park, she said the decision was “irrational” and amounted to a misuse of governmental authority, warning that it could push the Daegu‑Gyeongbuk region into “disappearance and reverse discrimination.”
Na called for a thorough parliamentary inquiry and, if necessary, a special prosecutor to investigate the funding and decision‑making process. She also suggested that a conservative government would have faced street protests from the Democratic Party over such a project, underscoring the political controversy surrounding the investment.
In addition, she denounced recent online‑regulation legislation as a threat to free expression and warned that related legal changes could have broader implications for security and governance.
