Naa Seidu Tungbani Salinbille II installed as Dorimon chief

Naa Seidu Tungbani Salinbille II has been officially outdoored as the chief of Dorimon in the Wa West District of Ghana’s Upper West Region. Although he was first enskinned on June 3, 2022, a four-year dispute prevented his formal installation. The conflict was ultimately resolved in his favor by the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs and the National House of Chiefs.

The installation ceremony integrated traditional customs with Islamic rites, featuring Imams reciting verses from the Holy Quran as the new chief performed traditional rituals. The event was attended by local residents, security personnel, and delegations from Dagbon, Mamprugu, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire.

In his acceptance speech, Naa Seidu Tungbani Salinbille II called for government assistance to address regional challenges and emphasized the need for community unity. Peter Lanchene Toobu, the Member of Parliament for Wa West, noted that the President has instructed the Minister for Roads and Highways to prioritize the construction of roads linking Wa, Dorimon, Wechiau, and Ga.
