Naantali completes new sports facilities at Velkua school

New sports and recreational facilities have been completed in Naantali, Finland. At Velkua comprehensive school, a new multi-purpose arena, climbing structures, fitness equipment, and playground elements have been installed. The project also included the addition of fruit trees and berry bushes to enhance the area's environment.

The school's principal, Päivi Soukka, noted that students have already begun using the new facilities enthusiastically. The upgrades have also increased the usage of the school field during evenings and weekends. The project was supported by a 30,000 euro investment grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture’s ‘Suomi liikkeelle’ program, with the city investing an additional 80,000 euros.

Additionally, a new outdoor fitness area featuring weight-based equipment and jump boxes was opened at the Teersalo beach earlier this summer.
