Naantali Spa shooting suspect remanded in custody

A 37-year-old man has been remanded in custody by the Western Finland District Court following a shooting at the Naantali Spa. The suspect is facing charges of aggravated assault, causing danger, and aggravated firearms offenses.

The incident occurred late Saturday evening when the suspect allegedly fired several shots at another adult male in the hotel's reception area. The victim sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Police investigators noted that the incident appears to have been a confrontation between two individuals. While three other men were initially detained for allegedly assisting the suspect, they were subsequently released. Investigators are continuing their work through interviews and technical examinations.
