NAB and LCCI partner to combat corruption and boost investment
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) have agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation to combat corruption. During a meeting between NAB Director Muhammad Akmal and LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar, both parties emphasized that transparent governance and the elimination of corrupt practices are vital for attracting investment and accelerating economic growth.
The collaboration aims to address corruption-related complaints from the business community and improve transparency within government departments. The goal is to ensure that traders and industrialists can conduct legitimate business activities without facing unnecessary hurdles or harassment. Both organizations noted that a predictable regulatory environment and effective complaint-resolution mechanisms are essential to restoring business confidence and encouraging both domestic and foreign investment.
