NABARD and NaBFID sign MoU to fund rural infrastructure
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration on rural infrastructure projects.
The partnership aims to combine NABARD’s expertise in agricultural and rural sectors with NaBFID’s specialized infrastructure financing capabilities. The agreement establishes a framework for joint financing, knowledge sharing, and the creation of innovative solutions to provide long-term, competitively priced finance for projects that strengthen rural value chains.
Key areas of focus include designing commercially viable projects in food processing, storage, and cold-chain connectivity. Officials from both institutions noted that the collaboration is intended to bridge the rural-urban divide and support national priorities regarding rural prosperity and economic growth.
