Nabil Bonduki calls for review of TSE social media rules

Nabil Bonduki, a candidate for federal deputy from São Paulo, has called for a review of Superior Electoral Court (TSE) regulations regarding social media recommendation systems. Bonduki claims that official candidate profiles are being penalized by having their reach restricted by algorithms after being identified to the court.

Bonduki reported a significant drop in engagement, stating his TikTok profile saw approximately 90% fewer views and other platforms experienced an average reach reduction of 40%. He argues that the current application of the rule creates an uneven playing field, as candidates who correctly identify their accounts to the TSE face algorithmic restrictions, while unidentified profiles may continue to be recommended to users.
