Nabil Maâloul resigns as CR Belouizdad manager

Tunisian coach Nabil Maâloul has resigned from his position as manager of CR Belouizdad following a 2-2 draw against USM Alger in the Algerian Professional League. The announcement came during a post-match press conference at the 5 July Stadium after the seventh-round fixture.

The match was marked by significant tension, featuring three penalties and two red cards. Reports indicate that Maâloul's decision was influenced by the officiating of international referee Mustapha Ghorbal, who dismissed the coach during the game after repeated objections to refereeing decisions.

Maâloul had managed the club for only six matches. While he expressed frustration over the missed opportunity to gain a psychological advantage in the standings, he defended his players' performances. It remains unclear if the resignation is final or if further discussions with club officials will take place.
