NABVENTURES secures Rs 450 crore in first close of second fund

NABVENTURES, the venture capital arm of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), has announced the first close of its second fund at Rs 450 crore. The fund is targeting a total corpus of Rs 1,500 crore, which includes a green-shoe option.

As the anchor investor, NABARD aims to use the fund to support technology-led businesses that address structural constraints within India’s agricultural value chain. Investment targets include early- and growth-stage companies focusing on agritech, food and agribusiness, rural fintech, climate-smart solutions, supply chain innovation, and logistics.

NABARD Chairman Dr Shaji Krishnan V stated that the milestone reflects a commitment to fostering innovation to enhance productivity, strengthen value chains, and improve farmer incomes. The fund also intends to support businesses centered on sustainability, climate resilience, financial inclusion, and livelihood creation in rural areas.
