NAC Breda signs Belgian defender Jan Van den Bergh and midfielder Jannes Van Hecke

NAC Breda announced the signings of two Belgian players ahead of the new season. Left‑back Jan Van den Bergh, 31, returns to the club after three seasons with Japanese side Júbilo Iwata, having made 28 appearances and scored three goals in Japan. He signs a three‑year contract with the Dutch side.

Midfielder Jannes Van Hecke, 24, joins NAC on a free transfer from SK Beveren. The former Belgian youth international contributed seven goals and four assists in Beveren’s promotion campaign to the Belgian top flight and has over 130 professional matches to his name. He signs a four‑year deal. Technical director Peter Maas praised both arrivals, saying the club needed reinforcement on the left side of defence and a dynamic player capable of operating in multiple midfield positions.

Both players expressed enthusiasm about returning to Breda, citing the club’s supporters and ambition as key factors in their decisions.
