NACADA seizes 4,000 suspected counterfeit alcoholic drinks in Kayole raid

A multi-agency task force led by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) seized over 4,000 suspected counterfeit alcoholic products during a raid in Kayole, Nairobi.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday, September 2, targeted a suspected distribution point for illicit beverages. Authorities recovered more than 250 cartons of assorted products. Two suspects were arrested and detained at Jogoo Road Police Station, with expectations to appear in court.

The crackdown involved several agencies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), the National Police Service, and the National Gang Prevention Unit. NACADA CEO Dr Anthony Omerikwa credited public intelligence for the success of the operation and warned that the government will continue to pursue those involved in the manufacture and sale of counterfeit alcohol.
