Nachbeben film release explores medical error consequences

The Danish film ‘Nachbeben’ (Second Victims), directed by Zinnini Elkington, is being released on digital platforms starting September 10, with DVD and Blu-ray versions following on September 25, 2026.

The drama explores the ‘Second Victim’ phenomenon, focusing on the psychological toll experienced by medical professionals following clinical errors. The story follows Alexandra, an experienced neurologist played by Özlem Saglanmak, who works in an overburdened hospital setting. After misjudging the symptoms of an 18-year-old patient, Alexandra must navigate the resulting guilt and systemic pressures.

The film features Trine Dyrholm as Camilla and has previously received several Danish Film Awards (Robert).
