Nachrichten am Ort pauses operations for summer vacation

The online local newspaper Nachrichten am Ort, which covers the Bavarian towns of Baunach, Breitengüßbach, Hallstadt, Kemmern, Rattelsdorf, Zapfendorf and, since 2019, Gerach, Lauter and Reckendorf, announced that its editorial team will be on a short summer break. In its notice the outlet thanked readers, contributors and advertising partners for their support over the past 15 years and highlighted its production of more than 10,300 articles, 50,000 photos and numerous videos since its launch in 2011.

The statement also called on regional businesses, freelancers and clubs to become partners, noting that advertising helps sustain the independent local journalism model.

The pause will be brief, and the newsroom will resume publishing after the vacation period.
