Nacional Financiera backs strategic development projects in Tamaulipas
Carlos Torres Rosas, director general of Nacional Financiera (Nafin) and Bancomext, chaired the first session of the state advisory council and reaffirmed an alliance with Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya to support key development projects in Tamaulipas. The agenda includes the Port of the North in Matamoros, the Interior Port in Ciudad Victoria, and the Economic Development Pole for Well‑Being in Altamira. The governor noted the interest of President Claudia Sheinbaum and Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard in bringing the Canadian logistics firm Logistec to Altamira, stating “Es un hecho y en las próximas semanas se harán las consideraciones concretas…”.
Nafin pledged to expand financial and technical assistance, highlighting the Crédito Impulso programme that has granted 910 loans since August 2023, protecting about 20,000 jobs, and the Fondo Tamaulipas, which has allocated 2 billion MXN in productive financing over three years. The institution also agreed to launch a promotion tour in El Mante, set up a service window for the Plan México fund, and coordinate outreach with the state’s Secretariat of Economy.
“Venimos a trabajar de la mano con ustedes…”, Torres Rosas emphasized, underscoring Nafin’s commitment to listening to local entrepreneurs and channeling development‑bank resources to the region.
