Nacon reveals ‘WRC – The Official Game’ and development details

Nacon Racing has announced details regarding its upcoming World Rally Championship title, officially named ‘WRC – The Official Game’. Developed by the newly formed Grit Games using Unreal Engine 5, the title is scheduled for a 2027 release. This follows a five-year licensing deal with the WRC intended to run through 2032.

During a recent showcase, Nacon provided a behind-the-scenes look at the development process, including the laser scanning of the 2026 Lancia Ypsilon HF Integrale Rally2. The presentation also highlighted audio recording sessions for vehicles such as the Citroën C3 Rally2. The shift to Unreal Engine 5 and the new title suggests a potential departure from the previous model of annual releases toward a more sustained development approach.

In addition to the WRC title, Nacon’s Summer 2026 Showcase featured updates on several other racing titles, including Endurance Motorsport Series, Gear.Club Unlimited 3, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, and MXGP 26 – The Official Game.
