Nadežda Biljić announces victory over cancer

Singer Nadežda Biljić has announced that she has defeated cancer following a months-long private battle. Her husband, Toma Panić, revealed that the couple chose to keep her diagnosis and treatment away from the public eye to maintain privacy.

The health issues were discovered shortly after Biljić performed a concert in Valjevo on February 5. By March 11, she was hospitalized, and by late April, she was receiving treatment at an oncology department. Despite her condition, Biljić continued to fulfill professional obligations, including a performance at the Arena on March 21, while the public remained unaware of her illness.

Panić noted that radiation treatments were successful and that the family is now monitoring her condition through follow-up checkups. Biljić expressed her gratitude to those who provided support, stating, “I want to thank everyone who has supported me. Thank you so much for this support which, of course, means a lot to me. I am moving forward and see you soon.”
