Nadia Battocletti sets new Italian 1500m record in Bellinzona
At the Meeting di Bellinzona, Italian middle-distance runner Nadia Battocletti set a new national record in the 1500 meters. She finished the race with a time of 3:57.54 (or 3:57.56 per some reports), improving upon the previous record of 3:58.11 held by Sintayehu Vissa.
With this achievement, Battocletti now holds the Italian national records for the 1500, 3000, 5000, and 10,000 meters on the track, as well as the 5km and 10km road records. The European champion demonstrated strong tactical control, launching a decisive attack in the final 300 meters to secure the victory.
In other notable results from the event, Nigerian athlete Kayinsola Ajayi won the 100 meters with a time of 9.91 seconds, defeating competitors including Ronnie Baker and Akani Simbine. Zaynab Dosso finished fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.26 seconds.
