Nadia Sawalha sues ITV over Loose Women removal

Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha announced she is taking legal action against ITV, claiming the broadcaster removed her from the programme because of her protected philosophical beliefs supporting Palestinian rights. Her legal team at the European Legal Support Center sent a pre‑action letter alleging direct and indirect discrimination, harassment and unlawful treatment under the Equality Act 2010.

Saw​alha said ITV repeatedly took her on and off the show, citing “the noise” surrounding her public statements on the Israel‑Gaza conflict that began in December 2023. She maintains she has never discussed Palestine on‑air and was hired for her opinionated style. The presenter also referenced earlier libel cases in which two newspapers apologized and paid damages after accusing her and her husband of antisemitism and supporting terrorism.

ITV has not commented on the allegations. The dispute highlights tensions between media organisations and public figures over expression of political beliefs and the application of UK equality legislation.
