Nadia Verdile to present book on women of the Italian Constituent Assembly

To mark the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, a cultural event will be held on September 25, 2026, in Campobasso to present the book ‘Italiane Madri Costituenti. Ventuno donne che hanno scritto la nostra Costituzione’ by journalist and author Nadia Verdile.

Promoted by Europe Direct Molise and FIDAPA BPW Italy, the event at the Sala della Costituzione aims to honor the 21 women of the Constituent Assembly who helped draft Italy’s fundamental law. The presentation will feature a dialogue where Verdile uses historical research to imagine questions and answers for these women, alongside a multimedia segment titled ‘La fotografia impossibile’ to highlight their stories and battles.

The program is structured around six thematic sections exploring the history of the Constitution and its ongoing relevance to modern democratic participation.
