Nadia Zakaria builds and commissions orphanage in Kogi State

Nadia Zakaria, a 16-year-old Nigerian, has built and commissioned a fully equipped orphanage home in the Etahi Community of Okene Local Government Area, Kogi State. The facility was handed over to the management of the Oyiza-Salem Divine Orphanage Home.

The project was initiated when Zakaria was 15 years old. She funded the construction and furnishing of the building through donations and support mobilized from her family, friends, and members of the public. Zakaria stated that the project was driven by a desire to provide safety and care for vulnerable children who lack the opportunities she experienced growing up.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by community members, religious leaders, and well-wishers. Management of the orphanage described the new edifice as a significant intervention that restores hope and dignity to the children under their care.
