Nadiem Amiri uses personal driver to manage recovery and family life
Mainz 05 and German national team player Nadiem Amiri has implemented a unique routine to manage his professional and family responsibilities. To combat fatigue caused by short nights with his two young children, the 29-year-old utilizes his hour-long commute between Ludwigshafen and the training grounds in Mainz to rest.
Rather than a professional service, Amiri is driven by Mate Bozic, a 21-year-old footballer playing for TuS Mechtersheim. Bozic is a teammate of Amiri’s brother, Nauwid, who serves as the head coach at the club. Amiri described the ability to close his eyes and rest during the commute as “pure luxury.”
To further prioritize sleep before matches, Amiri often stays in hotels starting on Thursdays. He noted that his wife suggested this arrangement to help him manage the demands of fatherhood alongside his football career, while his mother provides support at home during these periods.
