Nafpaktia development plan proposed by Thanasis Papathanasis

Thanasis Papathanasis, a Member of Parliament for Aetolia-Acarnania representing New Democracy, has proposed a development plan for the mountainous Nafpaktia region. During the ‘Dialogues for Mountainous Areas’ event in Platano, Papathanasis outlined four key priorities to support permanent residency and local growth.

The proposed priorities include:

1. Improving accessibility and safety through road network interventions, infrastructure upgrades, flood prevention projects, and enhanced health services. 2. Supporting permanent residency via mobile health units, telemedicine, and incentives for renovating closed properties for residential or tourism use. 3. Strengthening local production and entrepreneurship by linking livestock farming, beekeeping, and small-scale processing with the local hospitality and catering sectors. 4. Ensuring more economic value remains within the local community.
