Algeria's state fuel distributor Naftal announced that tires for both heavy and light vehicles are currently available at its network of sales points across all wilayas, in quantities sufficient to meet transport operators' demand. The company said it is responding immediately and positively to all requests from transport union representatives, following a series of consultation meetings aimed at guaranteeing continuous supply of tires and lubricants.
Naftal reaffirmed its commitment to the joint action plan agreed with the unions, maintaining regular monitoring of measures on the ground. The public operator, a subsidiary of Sonatrach, also noted that it has launched a tender for 3.5 million tires, a move announced earlier by CEO Djamel Cherdoud, to address the recent market shortage and support the national economy.
