Naftalan Hospital completes 2 million euro wellness and tourism upgrade
The Special Hospital Naftalan in Ivanić-Grad has completed a 2.05 million euro project aimed at enhancing its accommodation and infrastructure to promote health and wellness tourism.
The investment included the renovation of ten accommodation units on the fifth floor, providing 20 new tourist beds. Additionally, the hospital modernized its wellness facilities by introducing three types of saunas and upgraded its digital infrastructure with a new website, a reservation system, and a virtual tour. The project also addressed energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
The total cost of 2,047,815.58 euros was co-financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument, contributing 1,577,122.08 euros via the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Zagrebačka County provided the remaining 524,262.71 euros.
Monika Udovičić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, noted that Naftalan is one of 15 major projects investing in health tourism in Croatia, with ten of these located in continental Croatia. The initiative is designed to attract visitors year-round and support local employment and services.
