Naftali Bennett warns of Israeli military manpower crisis
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has criticized Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet for ignoring warnings regarding a critical manpower shortage within the Israeli military. Bennett claims the army faces a deficit of approximately 20,000 personnel, specifically noting shortages in observers and snipers, as well as the strain caused by extended reserve service periods.
To address this crisis, Bennett suggested increasing the recruitment of Haredi Jews into the military. He warned that the current situation risks soldier burnout and could negatively impact overall combat readiness.
Additionally, Bennett directed sharp criticism toward the Prime Minister of Qatar, labeling him a “suit-wearing terrorist” amid ongoing tensions regarding Qatar’s role in Gaza mediation and its regional stance.
