Naftoport reports increased oil transshipments in Gdańsk
Naftoport, a terminal in Gdańsk, has reported a significant increase in liquid fuel transshipments. From the beginning of 2025 through the end of August, the facility handled 26 million tons of liquid fuels. In August alone, volumes reached 3.9 million tons, representing a 5 percent year-over-year increase.
For the full year of 2025, Naftoport transshipped a total of 38.65 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products. This total included 37.4 million tons of crude oil and 1.25 million tons of petroleum products, serviced across 463 vessels. This marks a substantial growth compared to 2021, when transshipments were approximately 18 million tons.
To accommodate growing demand and enhance energy security, Naftoport and the Gdańsk Marine Port Authority are constructing a sixth transshipment berth designed for VLCC-class tankers. This new infrastructure is expected to increase the terminal's nominal capacity by approximately 9 million tons annually and provide additional operational reserves.
As part of the PERN S.A. Group, Naftoport serves as a critical component of Poland's energy security, facilitating the delivery of oil to domestic refineries operated by the Orlen Group and refineries in Germany.
