Naga People’s Front holds workshop on political communication

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) held a seminar-cum-workshop in Kohima for its Press Bureau, Central Frontal Wings, and Cells to improve political communication and grassroots outreach. During the event, NPF Secretary General and Advisor Achumbemo Kikon emphasized the need for party workers to provide timely, factual responses to opposition allegations to prevent opposing narratives from taking root.

Kikon addressed several contentious issues, instructing cadres to explain the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) amendment as a matter currently before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). Regarding the Vande Mataram issue, he urged workers to clarify the relevance of Article 371A and the legislative process to ensure public actions are not misattributed to the party or the State Government.

Additionally, the workshop covered issues related to the Frontier Nagaland Territory Authority (FNTA) and the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO). Kikon highlighted the party’s historical focus on the eastern region, citing the 2003 establishment of the Department of Development of Underdeveloped Areas. He also called for a more professional social media presence to engage younger voters.
