Naga political settlement remains elusive after decades of dialogue

The Naga political issue continues to face a prolonged impasse, characterized by decades of political declarations, repeated dialogues, and competing interpretations of agreements. Despite various committees meeting, resolutions being adopted, and renewed assurances of an imminent solution, a definitive political settlement remains unachieved.

Observers warn that the failure to resolve these long-standing factional rivalries and political struggles risks normalizing a state of permanent crisis. The accumulation of unresolved issues, described as a political quagmire, threatens the collective future of the Naga people as temporary impasses become a permanent condition of their society.
