Naga Youth Movement announces protest at Lok Bhavan
The Naga Youth Movement (NYM) has announced a sit-in dharna scheduled for October 28 at Lok Bhavan in Kohima. The protest is a response to what the group describes as a lack of communication from the Governor regarding the implementation of the 2015 Framework Agreement (FA) and the 2017 Agreed Position (AP).
NYM members stated during a press conference in Dimapur that multiple representations and ultimatums submitted to the Governor in July and October have gone unanswered. The group also reported that requests for an appointment with the Governor were declined.
Representatives clarified that the movement is not directed against any specific organization or faction, but is instead demanding clarity and time-bound implementation of the existing agreements signed between Naga political groups and the Government of India. The group emphasized that a political solution is essential for the future of the Naga people.
