Nagakute City launches heatstroke prevention project for schools

Nagakute City in Aichi Prefecture has launched a heatstroke prevention project for children, seeking corporate donations through the online portal ‘Kifuru Online’. The initiative aims to install air conditioning systems in elementary and junior high school gymnasiums and martial arts halls to protect students from increasingly severe summer heat.

Nagakute City, known for having one of the lowest average ages in Japan, is utilizing the ‘Corporate Version Hometown Tax Donation’ system. This allows companies to contribute to local projects while receiving significant tax incentives, potentially covering up to 90% of the donation amount through corporate tax deductions. The project is part of the city’s broader strategy to support child-rearing and enhance regional livability.
