Nagaland Advisor urges local entrepreneurship to reduce reliance on outsiders
Nagaland’s Advisor for the Civil Administrative Works Division (CAWD), Kudecho Khamo, has urged the Naga people to pursue local entrepreneurship rather than relying on outsiders for essential goods. Speaking at the conclusion of the 18 Chozuba A/C Baking and Confectionery Training Programme in Meriema, Khamo highlighted the significant potential for local businesses in sectors such as groceries, bakeries, and confectionery.
Khamo addressed the mindset of young people who often view government employment as the sole viable livelihood, noting that this can lead to frustration and limited opportunities. He encouraged trainees to transition from job seekers to employers, emphasizing that successful ventures can begin with modest investments, even from a home kitchen. He stressed that willingness, determination, and skill-based education are essential to seizing Nagaland’s entrepreneurial potential and meeting market demands.
